Claude E. Bird

Claude E. Bird, 64, of W. Taft Road, Liverpool, died Tuesday at Crouse-Irving Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Doutyville, Pa., he had resided in Liverpool for the past 31 years. Bird was employed as a custodian at the Craven Crawford Elementary School in the Liverpool Central School District. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Liverpool. He also was a member of Liverpool Lodge 525, F&AM.

Surviving are his wife, Thea; a daughter, Mrs. Lucy Mae Waldby of Central Square; two sons, William L. of Phoenix, and Dale W. of Clay; two sisters, Mrs. William Raymer of Rome and Mrs. Marie Kramer of Shamokin, Pa.; three brothers, Henry of Baltimore, Md., Clement of Rome, and Gerald of Berwick, Pa.; 11 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Maurer Funeral Home, Liverpool. Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt.

Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 300 Second St. The Liverpool Masonic Lodge will hold services at 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
