Mrs. J. W. Bryant, 83, of Aubrey, Texas, died suddenly Jan 17, 1947, following a heart attack suffered at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Harry Bolen, of Denton, Okla., whom she was visiting. Funeral services were held at the First methodist Church, Jan. 19th at 2:30 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Phillip W. Walker, Pastor, and the Rev. Ernest Trietach of Aubrey. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery. Born April 5, 1864 at Cloverport, Ky., Mrs. Bryant had lived 38 years in Texas and 36 years in Denton County. She was a member of the Aubrey Methodist Church. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Bolen and Mrs. Julian Land of Denton, Mrs. Sid Duncan of Frisco and Mrs. L. L. McNeal of Sanger; five sons, G. P. and Leslie Bryant of Dallas, Herbert and P. B. Bryant of Aubrey and G. F. Bryant of near Denton; 18 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Mrs. Bryant (the former Mary Alice Worley) lived in Mead County for many years and had a host of friends and relatives here.
