Michael Chituras Ruiz, 32, son of Randy Harris and the late Kathy Ruiz Harris, of Rohner Park, Calif., passed away Jan. 29, 2014, at home, after a two-year battle with cancer. Born in Aug. 13, 1981, Las Vegas, Michael went to school at St. Viator's and graduated from Bishop Gorman High School in 1999. He was an avid soccer player and enthusiast, who played for both school and clubs. He was a longtime member of the Neusport FC team. Michael attended San Diego State University and graduated from San Francisco State University with a degree in hospitality. He met Andrea Menezes in college and they married in 2009. They settled in Sonoma County, Calif., where Michael worked at various resorts in the area and continued playing soccer with the indoor soccer league. Michael will be remembered for his fun-loving spirit, ever present smile and positive attitude. He will be missed. Michael is survived by his wife, Andrea; his dad, Randy; brothers, Joseph and Josh; grandparents, Kathy and Leo Falkensammer; gramma, Louise Ruiz; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. There will be a "gathering of friends and family" at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 15, at the Las Vegas Country Club, 3000 Joe W. Brown Drive.
