Rose was born August 9, 1919, in Greenville, Pennsylvania, the youngest daughter of Frank F. Benicek and Maria Kurinec Miklosovic Benicek.

She attended Saint Michael's Catholic School and Saint Michaels Church in Geenville.

She married her first husband Joseph C. Lusby in 1943. Rose and Joe eventually settled in Florida where they raised their three sons, Joseph C. Jr., Dennis, and Kevin.

Joseph Lusby died in February, 1961.

She later met and married William Leroy Adams on September 1, 1967. Bill was a career military man and he and Rose lived in many states. They also lived for several years in Souel, Korea when Bill took a Civil Service position after his retirement from the military.

Rose had a delightful sense of humor and an infectious laugh. She was known for a wonderful memory, recalling dates of all family members birthdays. She could tell you the smallest details of family events.

Rose loved going to mass at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Vacaville, California where she made her home. She had a beautiful garden, always tending to her geraniums and roses. She was a member of several garden clubs Her spotless home was always open to out of town friends and family. Everyone enjoyed her gracious hospitality.

She will remembered and missed by all who knew and loved her.

Other than her two husbands and parents, Rose was preceded in death by her sister Elizabeth Suman and half siblings, Jospeh J. McAllise, Karl Miklosovic, Anna Betchie, Vilma Grega and Mary Cibulay.

She is survived by her three sons, three step-sons, daughter-in-laws and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A celebration of her life and mass will be at St. Joseph Church, Vacaville, California on March 18, 20l4.

Per Roses wishes, her cremains will be buried with both husbands.

Heaven now has a beautiful Rose in it's garden.

Rose Mary Lusby Adams (1919 - 2014)

Our sweet Rose passed away peacefully on March 1, in Vacaville, of natural causes. She was 94. Born in Greenville, Pennsylvania to the late Frank and Mary Benicek, she was the youngest of six children. Rose married the late Joseph C. Lusby in 1943 in Pennsylvania. They were blessed with three sons and moved to Florida in the mid 50's where Rose was active in garden clubs, scouts and the Catholic Church. Joe died in 1961 and after years as a widow, Rose married William Adams. In 1972, Rose and Bill headed west to settle in Fairfield. They spent many happy years there watching their children and grandchildren grow up. Following Bill's retirement from civil service, Rose and Bill relocated to nearby Vacaville where they enjoyed gardening, traveling, and visiting family and friends. In 2008, Bill passed away at the age of 84.

Rose was a long time member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Vacaville. She had a passion for gardening and floristry throughout her life. She also enjoyed church, making friends, cooking, laughing, and spending time with her family. She was like a "grandmother" to many children and adults alike. She was a thoughtful, happy woman and was well known for her kindness and sweet smile wherever she went.

Her parents, two brothers, four sisters, and two husbands preceded Rose in death. She is survived by her six sons, Joseph (Carla) Lusby II, Dennis (Janet) Lusby, Kevin (Kathy) Lusby, Jon (Janet) Adams, Roger Adams, and Mark (Paula) Adams. In addition to her children, 13 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews survive her. Rose was loved by many friends and family and will be dearly missed.

The family wishes to thank Vacaville Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center for their compassionate and loving care of Rose.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, March 18, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Vacaville. Father Vincent O'Reilly will officiate. Interment will be at 1:30 p.m., at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery.
