JON WILCOX, 28, of Galion, went home to be with God Saturday, March 1, 2014. He passed away at the Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus, after battling Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy for many years.

Jon was born in Galion on September 24, 1985 to Terry and Crystal (Prosser) Wilcox who survive him.

Jon was an inspiration to all who met and knew him and was always concerned with those he felt had a greater struggle in life. He was a 2004 graduate of Galion High School and was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Galion. He loved Galion, OSU and Cleveland sports and could often be found at Galion sporting events with his Dad. He enjoyed eating out especially at Roosters. His special love in life was his nieces and his nephew.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister Shari Wilcox and RC Teynor of Galion, his nephew Carson Teynor, his nieces Addison and Lexi Teynor, his granny Helen Prosser, his many aunts and uncles; Gloria Hawkins, Virginia Wilcox, Cindy Wolfel, Paula (Phil) Alden, Laurie (Jerry) Burgan, Paul (Conni) Prosser, Billy (Christa) Prosser, Jack (Kim) Prosser, John Hoffman, Judy (Jesse) Moore, Joyce (Jim) Lewis, Steve (Kyle) Prosser, Dreama (Rob) Krantz and Debbie (Larry) Austen, his many cousins, beloved nurses and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Gene and Aileen Wilcox, his maternal grandfather William Prosser, his aunt Ronnie Hoffman and his uncles Larry Wilcox and Wes Hawkins.

Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Galion. Funeral services will be held at Thursday March 6, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Galion, with Rev. Joe Stafford officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Galion.

Memorial contributions may be made to Special Wish Foundation Galion Chapter, A Kid Again or the Muscular Dystrophy Association in care of the funeral home.
