Frona May Sloan, 86, Dixon, died March 15, 1999, at Balanced Care Center, Dixon. She was born July 4, 1912, near Dixon, a daughter of Joshua J. and Maggie Copeland Davis. She was married to Clell Sloan, who died Jan. 21, 1989. She co-owned a shoe repair business in Dixon for more than 50 years. Survivors include: three sons, Wayne Sloan and LeRoy Sloan, both of Dixon, and Steve Sloan, Jefferson City; two daughters, Lorene Carter, Springfield, and Willow Johnson, Middlebrook; two sisters, Irene Burgess and Velma Nichols, both of Dixon; two brothers, Ernest Davis, Dixon, and Edward Davis, Fenton; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 P.M. Wednesday at Long Funeral Home, Dixon. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, near Iberia.
