Melba Etheredge Hobby, 86, of Shingler died Sunday, March 2, 2014 at Phoebe-Worth Medical Center.
The funeral service will be held at Banks Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at 11:00 AM with interment to follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery. The Rev. Mike Davis will officiate.
Mrs. Hobby was born on October 27, 1927 in Anderson City to George Hill and Mittie Mae Cannon Etheredge. She was a lifelong resident of Worth County and a member of Pinson Memorial United Methodist Church. Mrs. Hobby was a member of the Joe Cook and the Maude O'Sheal Sunday School Class. She was a member of the UMW and the Pinson Angels. Mrs. Hobby enjoyed cooking and sewing.
Survivors include her sons, Maurice Hobby of Sylvester and George A. Hobby of Shingler; one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter, and brother, George W. Etheredge of Albany.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hobby was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Franklin Hobby on November 03, 2007.
