From the New York Times, February 2, 1872:
"AULD.--On Tuesday, the 30th January, of scarlet fever, ELIZA ADELINE, eldest daughter of John R. Auld. Funeral from her father's residence, No. 26 Rutgers-st. at 2 o'clock on Friday, 2d inst."

Green-Wood Cemetery
Section 167, Lot 16809.
This large lot was purchased by John R. Auld on July 2 1866 after the death of his wife, Eliza. Four months later, Auld conveyed the front half of the lot to Edward P. Fox. Accordingly, stones for Auld and daughter Swanell are in the rear of the lot, and the other 3 stones in the front of the lot are for descendants of Edward P. Fox. There appears to be no familial relationship between the 2 families. Only 5 stones stand on a lot in which 32 burials have taken place, meaning that most burials here are not memorialized by any currently visible or legible stone or inscription. A list of lot residents, with burial dates, appears after the inscriptions.
