Minister Malinda Arlene (English) White, age 54, was horn on November 25, 1959 in Columbia, TN, to the union of Deacon William D. and the late Edna Mae (Ogilvie) English. She departed life on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

 

She was educated in the Maury County School System graduating from I.B.H. Daycare, Columbia Central High School, Columbia State Community College, and Trinity Bible College. She was a former employee of Tennessee Farmers Mutual Insurance Company and after retirement enjoyed her job as homemaker.

 

She professed a hope in Jesus Christ as her Savior and Lord at an early age and united with Mt. Calvary M.B. Church under the leadership of the late Rev. James S. Harris and under Rev. Kenny L. Anderson. She was a member of the Junior and Senior Choir. She attended Baptist Training Union (BTU), Vacation Bible School, Sunday School, Bible Study, Duck River Association, and served on annual youth committees.

 

Malinda White preached her first sermon at 8th and Woodland Original Church of God and preached God's message throughout the communities and over the state of Tennessee serving as evangelist, teacher and spiritual advisor. She was called into the ministry and joined Trinity Family Church under the leadership of Pastor Carol Jacobs and was involved as a teacher in the youth ministry.

 

She was loved by many for her calm, sweet, and outgoing spirit. She held high those Christian ideals and characteristics and loved spreading the word of God. She will always be remembered for her lovely personality, her willingness to give.

 

She was diagnosed with sickle cell anemia at the age of six and fought the disease as a strong warrior and championed it by declaring that by His stripes that she was healed and going on in Jesus name, living with sickle cell anemia for over 18 years.

 

On March 6th, 1982, she marred the love of her life, Airman Arthur J. White who later became Airman First Class with the United States Air Force. She loved traveling and one special place she visited was Albuquerque, NM. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and grandmother. She was a willing worker, a dedicated and faithful servant who spent many years as a foster mother.

 

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Samuel and Mary (McClain) English; maternal grandparents Rev. Allen and Magnolia (Secrest) Ogilvie; mother Edna Mai (Ogilvie) English; brothers William Clifford English and Jeffery Maurice English; grandson Jordan McClain; and brother-in-law Eddie Mauldin.

 

Malinda leaves to cherish her memories her loving and devoted husband Arthur J. White; children Damaris White, Serena White, Terri Moore, Nancy Moore, Tracie Jones; grandchildren Carmello, Jourdyn, Kingston, KeVon, Loundyn; father Deacon William D. English; brothers Richard (Debbria) English, and Leonard (Jackie) English; sister Pastor Yvonne (Thomas) Ogilvie Gilbreath; brothers-in-law Robert (Brenda) Mauldin, Clifford (Donna Faye) Jones, Charles Edward Ogilvie, and Glenn Ogilvie; sisters-in-law Linda Mauldin, Glenda Mauldin, Dr. Rose Ogilvie McClain and Ernestine English; uncle Gilbert English of St. Louis, MO; aunts Mendosia Ogilvie and Fannie B. English of Columbia, TN, Mildred Puryear of Detroit, MI, Bettie English (Sherman) Wilkinson of Georgetown, KY; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

 

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, February 12, 2014 from 5 pm to 7 pm at the 8th and Woodland Street Church with a celebration to follow at 7 pm. Funeral Services will be Thursday, February 13, 2014, 12 noon at Friendship M.B. Church. Rev. Trent Ogilvie — Eulogist.

 

Interment, Pinecrest Memorial Garden.
