Morris was the son of Addis Prestenback and Eve Bergeron. His brothers were Roy and Ferdie.

Morris enlisted 20 Jul 1940 in Mississippi.

During the war, Morris met Kazuko, whom he married and brought back to the States with him.

Morris and Kazuko arrived from Yokohama, Japan in Seattle, Washington on 9 Sep 1954; from there they traveled to Baton Rouge, where they settled. They had no children.

Morris and Kazuko were brutally murdered in their home on Dalton Street in Baton Rouge; a double homicide - the first murder of the new year - that caused much local media attention. Allen "Lil Boo" Robertson Jr. is still on death row at Louisiana State Penitentiary for the crime. He was a neighborhood child who had grown up knowing the kindly, elderly couple.

The couple left all of their money and belongings to their church, with whom they were very active. Their memory is honored there to this day.
