Travis William Warren, Sr., 79 of Colonial Heights, died Monday, March 17, 2003. He was born February 29, 1924 in Amelia County to Alice and Thomas Warren. Mr. Warren served during World War II in Co. L, 342 Infantry Regiment. He is also a member of the 86th Blackhawk Division Assn. Decorations and Citations include Asiatic Pacific Service Medal; EAME Service Medal with 1 Bronze Service Star; American Theater Service Medal; Good Conduct Medal; Purple Heart; World War II Victory Medal. He is also a member of the Woodmen of the World, VFW Post 637. He served as a Deacon at Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church, and also on the board of Elders. From1958 to 1960 he was Scout Master for Troop #928 of Hopewell. He retired in October 1983 from Continental Can after 32 years of service. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Robert Larry Warren and a son-in-law, Gene Peacock of Valdosta, GA. He is survived by his wife Virginia C. Warren; three children, Patricia Warren Peacock of Valdosta, GA, Travis W. Warren II of Colonial Heights and Robert L. Warren of Charlottesville; five grandchildren, Travis W. Warren III and wife Katie of Colonial Heights, Jennifer Funke and husband Alex of Richmond, Ashley Camon of Valdosta, GA, Jason Warren and wife Teresa of Palmyra, and Robyn Warren of Dinwiddie; eight great-grandchildren, Zachary Funke, Tre' Jackson, Ali Funke, Jae Camon, Evan Warren, Hannah Warren, Sophia Funke and Isaiah Harris. The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 19, 2003 7-8:30 p.m. at E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights. A funeral service will be held Thursday 2:00 p.m. in Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church, 211 Lynchburg Ave. Colonial Heights. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester.
