Mrs C. O. Self, Former Ada-ite Died

Funeral Rites were held at Kenmore, Washington last Thursday Afternoon Mrs. C. O. Self, a well-known resident of the Ada community, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lucile Scott at Kenmore, Washington on Sunday, July 21, 1946. Death was due to a heart ailment and she had been in failing health for about six weeks. Elizabeth Dober was born in Pittsfield, Illinois on January 25, 1874, spending her early youth there. On March 27, 1898, she was united in marriage to Claude O. Self at Jacksonville, Illinois. They resided at that place for a number of years until they came to Norman County in 1919. Here, they located on a farm three miles south of Ada. Mr. Self passed away in 1942 and Mrs. Self left here shortly thereafter. She had visited here just about a year ago. Surviving are her son, Orval, of Ada and her daughter, Lucile Scott of Kenmore. Two brothers, Albert Dober of Mt. Vernon, Washington, and Herman Dober of Jacksonville, Illinois. Three grandchildren survive. She was preceded in death by one son who died in infancy in 1900. She was a member of the First Christian church at Jacksonville, Ill and also a member of the Rebecca Lodge of that city. She attended the Methodist church in Ada. Funeral services were held in Bothell, Washington July 25th with the Rev. Wm. E. Duncan officiating. Burial was in the Acacia cemetery at Seattle, Washington. Orval Self attended the services, making the trip by airplane from Fargo.
