He was born on Aug. 9, 1911, in Albert Lea, Minn. He graduated from Iowa State University in 1934.
On June 28, 1941, he married the former Willa Bennett in Schenectady, N.Y. In 1977 he moved to Grants Pass from Topsfield, Mass. He worked for General Electric as a mechanical design engineer for 43 years.
Paulson enjoyed building, designing, reading and wildlife.
He was a member of the Masons, Tarr Beta Pi, Pi Kappa Alpha, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include two daughters, Karen Wakefield of Williamsburg and Chris Bangtson of Merlin; two sons, Laurence Paulson of Herndon, Va., and Eric Paulson of Fayetteville, N.C.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
