James A. Matthew, 72, of Lebanon passed away Sunday, March 2, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Hospital. He was the husband of Ethel M. (Levengood) Matthew.

Born in Lebanon, PA on March 23, 1941, James was a son of the late James L. and Ruth A. (Fertig) Matthew.

He was a 1959 graduate of Lebanon High School. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, the Elks Club, Friendship Fire Company, Central Chapter Sports Hall of Fame and TPA. He was an avid horse racing fan and contest player.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter Treva F. Matthew, of Lebanon; friend, Janet Paszik and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Service Thursday morning 11:00 at Messiah Lutheran Church, 1800 Oak St., Lebanon, 17042. Interment at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. Visitation Thursday morning 10-11 at the church.
