Joseph P. Hall Dies On Tuesday

Joseph Patrick Hall, former maintenance man at the War Memorial Hospital died at 9:45 p.m., Tuesday, May 25, 1954 at his home on the Pickford Star Route. Born in Pendleton, Ontario, January 17, 1880, he and his parents moved to the Tone area in 1881, where the parents homesteaded.

He married Florence Dickson in Curran, Ontario during 1907 and until 1944 he farmed in the Tone area. He then went to work at the hospital until he retired in July, 1953.

Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Leslie, of Ottawa, Ontario, and James at home; three daughters, Mrs. George (Beatrice) Sawyers of Royal Oak; Mrs Irvin (Eileen) Thompson of Cedarville and Mrs. Lawrence (Kathleen) Mayotte of the Sault; 24 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was a member of the Holy Family Church of Barbeau. The body will rest at the Balley-Newhouse Funeral Home beginning Wednesday evening where prayers will be said at 8 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be held in St. Mary's Church at 9 a.m. Friday, May 28, the Rev. Elmer Bares officiating. Burial will be in the family plot in Donaldson Cemetery.
