Abel Hall, a retired farmer living three miles south of the Donaldson Catholic Church died Saturday afternoon at one o'clock, following an eight-year illness with dropsy, being confined to his bed all during that time. Besides a wife, he is survived by a son, Joseph Hall, of Donaldson. The funeral services were held this morning at ten o'clock in the Donaldson Catholic Church, burial taking place in the Donaldson Cemetery.

Note: Dropsy is an old term for the swelling of soft tissues due to the accumulation of excess water. In years gone by, a person might have been said to have dropsy. Today one would be more descriptive and specify the cause. Thus, the person might have edema due to congestive heart failure.
