Elvin Smith, 70, of Guild, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2012 surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents Ena Mae and William Lincoln Smith, two sisters, Glenda Sue Blevins and Rita Kaye Atchley and one brother, William Steve Smith. Elvin was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family and will be sadly missed. He was a hard and dedicated worker and built a trucking company from the ground up with the help of his wife and sons. Survivors include his wife, Debra Jane Smith, children and their spouses, Jerry and Cindy Smith, Tom and Mary Smith, Tammy and Robbie Blevins, Jamie Smith, and Lincoln Smith and fiancé Michele Estep; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother Sherman Smith; sister, Charlotte Smith; in-laws, Ron and Jane Waldenmyer and sisters-in-laws, Wendy Rea, Tracey Saul, and Deanna Morrison; and a host of other relatives including aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Friday from 5 to 9 pm and Saturday 3 to 9 pm central time. Services will be held Sunday at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Chris Kilgore and Reverend John Goforth officiating. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery, Bryant, Alabama.
