Excerpt from his obit:

"Wm. Palmer Was Killed Here on Village Street Last Friday...
Mr. Palmer was killed about two o'clock last Friday morning, when his machine, a Pontiac sedan which he was driving East on Fifth Street, crashed into the steel posts erected only recently by the Detroit Edison Co. to protect their lamp post on the Boulevard at Wilcox and Fifth streets. The car was practically a total wreck. Residents living near the scene of the tragedy summoned an ambulance, but Mr. Palmer died on the way to a Pontiac hospital."

"Mr. Palmer was the son of Louis E. Palmer, one of the oldest business men in this village and a partner in the jewelry store of L.E. Palmer and Son. ...Burial was made in the Rochester cemetery. All business places on Main Street were closed from two to three, Monday afternoon, during the services."
