Sarah Hendren Gilmore, 80, of Creekridge Dr., Asheboro, died Sunday, March 2, 2014 at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.
Funeral Services, 2 PM, Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at Jordan Memorial United Methodist Church, Ramseur.
Officiating, Rev. Charles Lindquist.
Burial, Sunset Knoll Cemetery, Ramseur.
Sarah was a native of Randolph County, and was a 30 year employee of Acme McCrary and a retired bookkeeper for Garden City Realty Company. She was an active member of Jordan Memorial United Methodist Church where she served as President of Circle 2 of Jordan Memorial United Methodist Women. She was also a life time member of UMW, an active member of Church Women United of Randolph County, a life time member of the NC Garden Club, President of the Round Dozen Book Club and an active member of her Red Hat Club. She was past President of American Business Women's Association, was a member of Surfside United Methodist Women and active supporter of the Garden City Chapel. She was preceded in death by her parents, John S. and Isa Brown Hendren, grandson, Billy Eugene Poole, Jr.
Survivors: husband, Mont Gilmore, of the home, daughters, Jamie Yow Poole, and husband, Billy, Rachael Gilmore Waugh, and husband, Tommy, all of Asheboro, son, Terry Yow, and wife, Denise, of Hickory, sisters, Dot Hudson, and husband Harry, of Ramseur, Nancy Dailey, and husband, Don, of Spring, TX, grandchildren, Robbie Poole, and wife, Shannon, of Asheboro, Travis Poole, of Asheboro, Sarah Waugh, of Seattle, Washington, Allen Robbins, of Asheboro, Charlotte Testa, and husband, Dave, of Matthews, Phillip Waugh, and wife, Jennie, of Asheboro, Chris Waugh, and wife, Angela, of Wilmington, great grandchildren, Cynthia Poole, Andrew Poole, Haley Scott, Jake Testa, Abbey Testa, Sadie Testa, Vance Waugh, Alyssa Waugh, great great grandchild, Camlynn Freeman.
