From the Rumford Falls Times, May 18, 1918. News has reached Andover of the sudden death of Miss Emma Talbot, daughter of William and Martha Poor Talbot of this town, at the age of 71 years. Miss Talbot was a highly respected lady. She was a member of the Congretional Church of Andover, having united in 1866 and was a worthy member. Later she went to Massachusetts and at the time of her decease she was in Kansas taking care of an aged lady. She retired at night and apparently passed away without waking. She is survived by several brothers and two sisters, John Talbot of this town being one of her brothers. NOTE: A lenghthy obituary for Miss Talbot appears on page 9 of the "Rumford Falls Times" for July 27, 1918.
