Jerry H. Rodgers, 71, of Summerville, husband of Ann (Shread) Rodgers, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Summerville Medical Center. A gathering of friends and family will be held at James A. Dyal Funeral Home on Saturday, February 15, 2014 from 1 o'clock PM until Hour of Service. A memorial service will begin at 2 o'clock PM at James A. Dyal Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 5900 Core Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29406. Jerry was born on March 25, 1942 in Charlotte, NC, son of the late Howard Graham and Grace Rodgers. Jerry graduated from Rock Hill High School in Rockhill, SC. He then went on to graduate from St. Leo University in Sumter, SC where he received his Bachelor's of Science in Human Resource Management. He retired from the United States Air Force as a Chief Master Sergeant after 30 years of service. He also worked for SC Vocational Rehabilitation as a counselor for 22 years. He was very passionate about woodworking. Surviving in addition to his wife Ann are: one son: Glen Rodgers (Dale) of Weatherford, TX; one daughter: Ann Marie Commander (Joe) of Murfreesboro, TN; four grandchildren: Shantel Perry, Kyle Commander, Stefani Jarvis and Stuart Rodgers; two great grandchildren: Emmeline Perry and Payge Jarvis.
