Elizabeth was the daughter of Elijah and Mary Seay Stone. Jesse Moore went back to Amherst county, Va on October 30, 1788 for the purpose of marriage. He was acquainted with Betsy through her sister Rachel Stone who had two years previous married his brother, Daniel. The name Seay continued in the family for some time but was modified to simply read as a single letter, C. For example, Dr. Hight C Moore.
