SIDNEY — Brian Ray Tidwell, 48, of Sidney, passed away at 1:40 a.m., Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, after a brief and courageous bout with cancer.

He was born on March 6, 1965, in Sidney, the son of the late Richard and Jean (Funk) Tidwell. On Sept. 26, 1992, he was married to Michelle Miller, who survives him, along with their son, Justin "J.T." Tidwell, of Sidney; father-in-law, Mike Miller, of Botkins; mother-in-law, Lynn Miller, of Wapakoneta; brother-in-law, Ron (Rosi) Miller, of Wapakoneta; sister-in-law, Deb (Ted) Winner, of Minster; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; his beloved pet, Jada Blue; sister, Rebecca Casity, of Sidney; and brother, Christopher (Vonda) Tidwell, of Piqua. Brian was preceded in death by one sister, Carole Tidwell.

Mr. Tidwell worked for International Automotive Components in Sidney for 28 years as a maintenance technician. He was an Anna firefighter for 22 years, and an Anna Junior High football coach for 14 years. Brian was a member of the Eagles Lodge No. 1391. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and was an avid Cleveland Browns fan. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at 7 p.m. at Cromes Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave., with the Rev. Michael Althauser officiating.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2 p.m. until the time of service.
