E. G. "Eddy" Brown, 88, a lifelong resident of Cuero died at 7:17 a.m., Friday, May 10, 1991 at a Yoakum Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.
He was born September 1, 1902, to Robert Carl Brown, Sr. and Elizabeth Spies Brown. He was a farmer, a rancher, and a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church at Cuero. He was a former director at the DeWitt Co-op. He married the former Ella Koenig in Cuero on December 28,1925.
Survivors include his wife Ella Koenig Brown of Cuero, son E. C. Brown of Cuero; Royal T. Brown of Yorktown; sister Ella Mae Mauer of Cuero.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Elizabeth Blalock and Elva Brown; brothers Charles, Fred A. and Robert C. Brown, Jr.
Services were held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church with Reverend Alfred O. Hoerig officiating. Burial followed in Memory Garden of Cuero; in Freund Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pall Bearers were Douglas Boyer,Ernest Meier, Robert Reid, Virgil Brown, Edward Koenig, and Henry Alex.
Memorials may be made to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Capitol Improvement Fund, or a charity of choice.
