Hello, I thought I'd let you know that the Amos Perkins who is the father of Roxa Morse is different from the Amos Perkins of Woodbridge CT who lived in Woodbridge his entire life. While living in CT and searching for my 3x great grandfather I came across Amos of Woodbridge, son of Abiah Downs. His probate records at the CT State Library showed he was a bachelor. The two men are easily confused having the same name and almost the same birth and death years. Bachelor Amos' are pretty exact dates, while my Amos' are estimates. My Amos was the son of Amos Perkins Sr & Cota Staples and grandson of Oliver of Voluntown and Ruth Wilcox. My Amos, Jr. had to leave CT because he had trouble with the law. He went to E. Smithfield PA per 1820 census and deeds I have with him and wife, Amy. Then they went to Batavia NY in 1828 and to Sharon, Washtenaw Mi in 1850. He was living until 1854. Amos is probably buried in an unmarked grave in daughter Roxy's VERY large plot. His wife, Amy, died and is buried in Parma, Jackson Mi in 1858 with her other daughter, Mary Ferguson. I've proven all this for the DAR. Thanks in advance for making necessary corrections. Julie K
