Thought to be the son of Chapman Gordon (Gorden) 1757 – 1813 and his wife Charity Pennington King 1765 – 1858. Charity married Mr Robinette after her first husband, Chapman Gordon, died.

Inscription

"Amiable & beloved Father, farewell,Thy yea?? were few but thy virtues were many; they are
recorded not on this perishing stone, but in the Book of life & in the hearts of Friends."
