Marjorie Joan Helmsing, age 76, of Milton, died Friday, April 2, 2010 at Henry County Hospital in New Castle, Indiana.
She was born in Richmond, IN on May 8, 1933 to Clinton and Hazel Hardwick Jones and had lived most of her life in the area.
Joan was of the Methodist faith attending the Methodist Church in Milton. She loved knitting, crocheting and sewing. Her greatest joy was taking care of her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda (John) Berger of Campton, KY and Peggy (Clifton) Erick of Cambridge City, IN; one grandson Chris Banks of Campton, KY; a brother Robert E. (Juanita) Jones of Richmond, IN; nieces & nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, of 42 years, Vernon E. Helmsing; a son, Gary; and a daughter, Marilyn.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at 10:30 AM at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel in Cambridge City on with Rev. Troy Lunsford officiating. Burial will follow in Zion's Lutheran Cemetery in Pershing, IN. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Monday, April 5, 2010.
