AUGUSTA , Ga. — Michael Glen Stearns, 49, of Augusta, Ga., formerly of Wapakoneta, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, in Augusta, Ga.

He was born Sept. 2, 1964, in Lima, the son of Richard Glen and Audrey (Cull) Stearns. His parents survive in Wapakoneta.

Other survivors include three siblings, Joseph Stearns and Daniel Stearns both of Wapakoneta, and Janet (Michael) Pettifor, Cassopolis, Mich., and their daughter, Atalie (Andrew) Goffeney, Fla.; three half brothers, Willie (Linda) Pilgrim, Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada, Boyd (Elsie) Cull, Ignace, Ontario, and Elvis (Belinda) Loder, Fort McMurray, Alberta, and their children, Leon, Corey, Bradley and Kayla Pilgrim, Jody (Greg) Waldoc, Joshua and Aimee Loder.

Mike was a machinist and worked at the Monarch Machine Tool Co., Sidney, On Time Machine Co., Wapakoneta, as well as several other places. He graduated from Wapakoneta High School and Apollo Joint Vocational School with a Machine Tool Operations certificate. Mike was a Baptist and a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. An avid fisherman, he was a former member of the Auglaize Fish & Game Club.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesdaym March 4, 2014, at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, Ohio 501, Wapakoneta, with the Rev. Daniel Hunt officiating. Burial is to follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Wapakoneta.

The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
