On Thursday, April 18, 1917, at the age of 29, Florence married James Martin McCann at St. Philomena's Catholic Church, in Churubusco, NY, by the Rev. Murphy, and witnessed by William K. Ryan and Mary O'Meara. The Malone Farmer Newspaper reported: "The bride's costume was a blue and gold traveling suit. Mr. and Mrs. McCann are both highly regarded young people and have the best wishes of a large circle of friends. They will reside on a farm recently purchased by the groom in Chateaugay."
