Michael Melbourne Gale, 67, of LaFayette passed away Tuesday at Francis House after a courageous battle with cancer. He was employed as a truck driver for Onondaga County Dept. Of Transportation in Marcellus and was previously employed by Allied Chemical, W.F. Saunders and Saulsbury Fire Equipment. Mike was a member of CSEA and an avid motorcycle enthusiast. He is survived by his wife, the former Charlene "Char" Kiehl; daughters, Dawn Gale of Auburn and Diane (Tim) Wood of Charlotte, NC; sons, Michael Gale Jr. of Fairmount, David Gale of Fairmount, Robert (Melanie) Willis of Cicero and Scott (Tina) Willis of Concord, NC; sister, Anne (Michael) Dennis of LaFayette; brother, Kevin (Cheryl) Gale of LaFayette; 15 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and two aunts in Salisbury, England. He was predeceased by his mother and father, Pearl and Vic Gale. Calling hours will be held Sunday, 1 to 4 p.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc., 2584 Field Lane, LaFayette, with a funeral service to immediately follow at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cardiff Cemetery.
