Catherine Freeman Dies In Murphysboro Home
Mrs. Catherine Freeman, 74, died at her home on North Second street Saturday afternoon after an illness of about three weeks.
She was born in the Bostick settlement near Murphysboro in 1875, and had lived in Murphysboro about 55 years.
She was married to James Freeman, who preceded her in death in 1946.
She leaves four children, Theodore of Murphysboro, Rhodrick of Mt. Vernon, Elmer of Springfield, and Mrs. Eula Mae Spann of Waukegan, three sisters, Mrs. Lottie Blackwell and Abbie Woods of Murphysboro, and Mrs. Melissa Agusta of Indiana, two brothers, Ferdnand Woods and Anderson Woods of Murphysboro, and two grandchildren.
She was a member of the Bethel A.M.E. Church.
