John Schlenker, 91, a retired farmer and well known Lodian, passed away yesterday afternoon in a local hospital after a short illness.
Mr. Schlenker, who made his home at 533 Hilborn st., had resided in Lodi for 36 years. He was a native of Russia and had farmed in Goodrich, N.D. before coming to California.
The deceased is survived by several children, Tobias Schlenker, Alex Schlenker, Mrs. Martha Stieglemeier, Ike Schlenker, Jake Schlenker, all of Lodi; John Schlenker, Manfred, N.D.; Abe Schlenker of Goodrich, N.D.
He was the husband of the late Mrs. Margaret Schlenker and father of the late Rudolph Schlenker and Mrs. Marie Mayer, all of Lodi.
Mr. Schlenker was the brother of Mrs. Christina Wagner, Lodi and Mrs. Mary Lange of Hertzfield, N.D.. Also surviving are 32 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren.
