Mrs. Margaret Sarah Adamson, 90, widow of John F. Adamson and one of Waynesburg's oldest residents, died at 12:40 p.m. Thursday, June 24, 1948, at her home, 263 West High street, Waynesburg. She had been in ill health for eight months and seriously ill for the past two weeks.
A lifelong resident of Waynesburg and vicinity, she was born May 9, 1857, in Franklin township, a daughter of Neal and Elizabeth Spencer sic] Zollars. She was the last of her family. Mrs. Adamson was a life-long member of the First Baptist Church and the oldest member of the congregation. Her father was one of the founders of the church. She was a regular attendant at church services until failing health prevented further attendance.
She married John F. Adamson, whose death occurred some years ago. Surviving are two sons, Harry Adamson, of Portland, Oregon, and Howard C. Adamson, of Des Moines, Iowa, and one granddaughter, Mrs. Lloyd E. Rittger, of Des Moines, Iowa.
No arrangements had been made last night for the funeral. Samuel P. Weaver is the funeral directors.
