James was born Dec. 28, 1918, in Dumas, Miss., the son of the late Lonnie F. and Louetta Hodges Nabors.
James graduated from Mississippi State University in 1942 and joined the Army, serving his country during World War II. After the service he worked as an insurance adjuster for Underwriters Insurance and retired from Gallagher-Pipino Agency of Youngstown.
James was a member of St. Charles Church in Boardman and a former member of St. Rose Church in Girard, the American Legion Post No. 235, where he was a past Commander and was also on the Legion's Drill Team for many years. He was a former member of Fonderlac Country Club and enjoyed playing golf.
James leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, the former Josephine Malito, whom he married Oct. 13, 1943; his daughters, Linda (Dennis) Moore of Howland and Peggy (Bob) Dolwick of Liberty Township; grandchildren Brian and James Moore, Melissa Starkey, and Todd and David Dolwick; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Doris Freeman; and granddaughter Mary Jo Dolwick.
James will be laid to rest at Girard City Cemetery with military honors.
