Beverly "Bev" Jean Egnew Cowan, 86, of Hoopeston, passed away at 12:55 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, at Heritage Health in Hoopeston.
She was born on July 17, 1927 in Rossville, the daughter of John Henry and Fee McBride Deck. She married Raymond Egnew on Feb. 24, 1946 in Hoopeston. He preceded her in death in April of 1982. She later married Leland "Bus" Cowan on May 30, 1990 in Boise, Idaho. He preceded her in death on March 2, 2011. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Barbara Jean Egnew Stephenson and Janet Rhea Egnew Eells; granddaughter, Amy Lynn Egnew Dunavan; three sisters and three brothers.
She is survived by her two sons, Robert "Buddy" (Yvonne) Egnew and Stephen (Ava) Egnew; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She worked at Schumacher's Electric Company for several years until she retired.
