Television and Radio Personality. Lange will best be remembered for hosting 'The Dating Game', which debuted in 1965, for more than a decade. After attending the University of Minnesota and serving in the Marines, he moved to San Francisco, California to make his broadcast debut as 'The All-Night Mayor' on a local radio show and in 1962, began his television career on 'The Tennessee Ernie Ford Show', where he was announcer and sidekick to Ford. Three years later he would sign on to host 'The Dating Game'. Other TV shows he hosted were 'Name That Tune', 'Bullseye', 'The $1,000,000 Chance of a Lifetime', 'Spin-Off', 'Triple Threat' and 'Give-n-Take'. Among TV shows he appeared on as himself were 'Bewitched', 'Laverne & Shirley', 'Parker Lewis Can't Lose' and 'Moesha'. In the early 1990s, he returned to the Bay Area to host a full-time radio show, 'Magic 61', that played American pop standards, and several years later, he became morning host of 'The Lange Gang' before retiring in 2005. Lange, who was married to Nancy Fleming, a former Miss America, died at their home after suffering a heart attack.
