Mrs. Aline Youmans Childress Harrison, 98 of Blackshear, passed away Wednesday morning, February 26, 2014, at the Mayo Clinic - Waycross.

Born in Waycross, GA on September 23, 1915, reared in Pierce County, she had lived in Waycross for many years before moving back to Pierce County in 2005.

Mrs. Harrison was a 1932 graduate of Blackshear High School and was retired from Farm Credit Services where she had worked as a secretary for 46 years. While working with Farm Credit, she had been a member of several professional business clubs for women.

Mrs. Harrison had also volunteered her time as a Pink Lady at the former Memorial Hospital – a job she dearly loved. She was a member of both Trinity United Methodist Church and also Blackshear First United Methodist Church and was in the Mary Martha Sunday school class at Trinity United Methodist Church.

She was a daughter of the late Joseph Robert & Rilla Raulerson Youmans. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Robert "Bob" Childress; her second husband, Samuel D. Harrison; three sisters, Agnes Brannon, Estelle Peacock and Rachel Bozeman; and by her brother, Henry Youmans.

Survivors include a step-daughter, Dee (Dan) James of Waverly; a step-son, Buddy (Nannie Carole) Harrison of Metter; 5 grandchildren, Sandee & Richard Sanford, Brian & Wendy James, Jason & Alene Harrison, Kasey & Elizabeth Ann Harrison and Kevin & Mary Helen Harrison; 13 great grandchildren; a niece, Dot Thrift of Waycross; a nephew, Jim Hunter of Blackshear; and several other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 1005 Church Street, Waycross, GA 31501 or to the First United Methodist Church, 225 Church Street, Blackshear, GA 31516.

Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.

Funeral services for Mrs. Harrison will be held at 11:00 o'clock Friday morning, February 28, 2014, at the Blackshear First United Methodist Church.

Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery.
