Jay Wilber Glass was born on March 7, 1912 in Murphysboro, the son of the late William B. and Maude Glass, nee Brookman. His surviving siblings were William E. Glass of Orlando, FL, Mrs Ruby Nausley and Mrs. Roberta Harper, both of Murphysboro.
Surviving children were Donald J. Glass of Springfield, Mitchell E. Glass serving in the Navy at Pensacola, FL and Mrs Martha Ann Standage, also of Springfield.
Mr. Glass was a painter.
He died at the age of 57 at his home two miles northeast of O'Fallon. Death was apparently due to a heart attack. Death occurred on Monday, January 9, 1969. His funeral was held at Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro. Rev. Harold Akan officiated. Scfhildknecht Funeral Home (O' Fallon) was in charge of arrangements.
