April Hughes, 50, of Kuna, died Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at her home. Services are under the direction of Accent Funeral Home, Meridian.

April Robbins-Hughes passed into her Savior's loving arms from her home in Kuna, Idaho on February 25th, 2014 at age 50 years old after a 3 year battle with colon cancer. April was the third child of William and Peggy Robbins, born on April 23rd, 1963 in Pomona, California. From a young age, April was a talented and creative fine artist, and a gifted figure skater. She graduated Montclair High School in 1981 and went on to study art at Chaffey College. Later in life, she studied under art masters Gary Greene and Brian Davis.
April married her husband, Michael Hughes, on May 21st, 1983 at the First Baptist Church of Pomona, California. They welcomed their daughter, Autumn, into the world on July 31st, 1988. The family moved to Idaho in 1993 and spent 8 months in Israel between 1999 and 2000, where April found a passion for the Israeli people. She spent much of her life devoted to providing support for Jewish people from anti-Semitic countries to make Aliyah and find sanctuary in their Israeli homeland.
After moving back to the United States, April and her family moved to Oregon where she attended Linn-Benton Community College and received a Certification in Office Management. In 2006, April and Michael moved back to Idaho where she worked in office auditing and continued to create beautiful paintings in her free time.
April was preceded in death by her mother, Peggy Robbins and her brother, Steve Robbins. April is survived by her loving husband, Michael Hughes; her daughter, Autumn Hughes; her father, William Robbins and her sister, Pamela Frazier.
April's ashes will be laid to rest at Morris Hill Cemetery in Boise, next to Ahavath Beth Israel Synagogue. A celebration of April's life will be held at the Idaho Botanical Garden, 2355 Old Penitentiary Rd. in Boise on Saturday, March 22nd, 2014 at 1:00 PM followed by a no-host reception and cupcake party at 13th Street Pub and Grill at 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, April's wish is for donations to be made to Mountain States Tumor Institute in Boise, Idaho; Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, Washington; or the American Cancer Society .
