Mary Angela Blaine, 62, of No Water, was hosted by a group of angels to lead her home on Feb. 24, 2014.

Baatchaapasuash "Fought Over" a Crow name given to her by her late uncle Herbert Blaine. She was born June 29, 1951, in Crow Agency to Warren and Myrtle Bear Cloud Blaine. She grew up in the No Water District, graduating from Lodge Grass High School in 1969. While in school, she was active as a majorette and selected to represent the Valley of the Chiefs as a district princess. As a student, she was part of a delegation to represent the great Apsaalooke Nation in Washington, D.C. and New York City, N.Y., She later attended Montana State University-Bozeman and Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute in Albuquerque, N.M., and obtained her Business Certificate.

She lived her life as a homemaker and was employed at the old Carpet Mill, Telecommunications Operator in Tucson, Ariz.; Indian Health Service as an Administrative Assistant; she was a translator for Our Lady of Loretto Catholic Church of Lodge Grass with Karen Watembach and Hugh Matthews; and later as an Administrative Assistant at the Apsaalooke Center of Crow Agency.

Her parents; daughter Loren White Horn; brothers, Benedict Blaine Sr., Warren J. Blaine Jr., Tyrone Rides Horse Sr., William "Bill" Stewart; sisters, Linda Blaine, Marilyn Bear Cloud Dumont, Karen Young Bird White Clay; and aunt Regina Blaine preceded Mary in death.

Survivors include her daughters Bekki (Albert) Gros-Ventre, Charlena (Adrian Broken Rope) Blaine, Theresa (Charlie) Stops Sr., Kristi (Lawrence Pretty On Top) Blaine, Kimmy (Everett) Walks, Terra Chesarek and Joanna Crazy Mule; a grandson whom she raised as her own Wyndell James (Rayma) Wolf Black; her sons Brian Pretty Eagle, James and Benedict Blaine Jr., Ted (Kara) and Tyler (Crissy) Chesarek, Felix (Charmin) and Joseph (Jobo) Blaine and Greely Bear Ground Jr.; an adopted son Jimmy Shores; her sisters Veronica (Steve) Chesarek, Fatima (Thomas) Crazy Mule, Christine (Patrick) Big Lake, Rena Yellow Robe, Garnett (Henry) Bright Wings, Janice (Michael) Laforge, Rowena (Larry Big Back) Gets Down, Annie Takes Horse, Martha (Lawrence Pete) Big Hair, Arvilla Plain Bull, Geordie Bear Cloud, Naomi Ann, Jocelyn and Andrea Costa, Jessica (Steve) Yapuncich, Dana (Albert) Birdinground, Christina (Bernard) Bad Bear, Karen Watembach, Joan, Betty, Lou, Florene, Doreen and Bernadine Young Bird, Peggy and Jamie White Clay, Rhonda Rides Horse, Arnetta and Theda Walks; her brothers, Joseph (Lorraine) Bear Cloud, Cyrus (Annie) Leider Sr., Charles and Rusty Blaine, Tommy Bear Cloud, Arnold (Gevy) Coyote Runs, Robert (Carol) Howe, Henry (Sarah) Small, Buster Leider Sr., Joseph (Jeryl) Pretty On Top, Mike (Dessie) Little Nest, Manford and Conrad Walks; her grandchildren that she held most dear, Angel Blaine, Jarvis Big Lake, Shikaakkaate Gros-Ventre, Jaden, Jada and Jadelynn (Monkey Bone) Broken Rope and her three great grandchildren, Jarvis Big Lake Jr., Zion and Jamaya Wolf Black; aunts Alice Bear Cloud, Alice Mae Laforge, Joann Horn, Philamine Young Bird, Eva (Sampson) Birdinground, Doris Gets Down and Carol Bulltail; uncles Floyd Horn, Dewey and Wales (Lovern) Bulltail; 47 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; adopted children whom called her Mama Mary, Gerald Black, Joen White, Stephanie Little Light, Becky Graham, Fredrica Left Hand, Shannon Howe, Stephen White, Michelle Jefferson and Martha Decrane; her extended family including the Bear Cloud, Blaine, Bull Horse, Shane, Costa, Pretty Eagle Descendants, Goes Ahead, Hugs, Iron, Morrison, Humphrey, Old Horn, Plenty Hawk, Left Hand, Small, Little Nest, Grey Bull, Cummins, White Man Runs Him, Packs The Hat, White Hip, Rides Horse, Horn, Walks Over Ice, White Clay families of Montana, the Young Bird, Chase, Fredericks, Fox and Hall families of North Dakota and the Koby and Horn families of Idaho. Rosary will be recited 4 p.m. Thursday in the Bullis Funeral Chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 28, in the Lodge Grass Our Lady of Loretto Catholic Church.

Interment will follow in the Lodge Grass Cemetery. Bullis Mortuary has been entrusted with the arrangements.
