DEATH TAKES CHAS. LEDGER

Funeral services for Charles S. Ledger, who died at his home, 542 Woodlawn avenue, at 6 o'clock last night, will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, and the body will be taken to Forest View Abbey mausoleum. Rev. John Gordan will officiate.

Mr. Ledger was born in Lake Geneva, Wis., on Feb. 19, 1864, and came to Rockford in 1891, where he was prominent in the shoe trade of the city for several years. He was a member of the retail firms of Lewis & Speaker and Ledger & Brewster and later opened a wholesale leather and shoe house at 117 South Court street. He was prominent in the activities of the Soangetaba club, and served as president of the organization.

In 1892 he was married to Miss Adah L. Merriam, who with three children survives him. The children are Misses Winnifred and Harriet, and Thomas. Two sisters and a brother also survive: Mrs. A. G. Palmer, of Lake Geneva, Wis.; Mrs. T. H. Speaker, Richmond, Ill., and Edward L. Ledger, Lake Geneva.

Mr. Ledger's death came after a long illness from which he had sought relief last summer at the Mayo sanitarium at Rochester, Minn.

Gravesite Details

The burials in Forest View Abbey were eventually move to Greenwood.
