Kimberly "Kim" Ann Edwards, 55, of Ashland passed away Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, at her home with her family by her side.

Kim was born May 22, 1958, in Ashland to Raymond "Cookie" Clark and Dora (née Morman) McQuate.

She graduated from Ashland High School in 1976. Kim graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1980 with a degree in social work.

Kim married Tom Edwards on Sept. 20, 1986, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ashland.

She was elected county commissioner in Ashland County in 2007, and currently was serving out her term. Kim was the mayor of Hayesville from 2000 to 2006 and the village clerk. She was employed at Columbia Gas of Ohio from 1981 to 1995 in various positions from teller to operations technician.

She was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church, where she was a reader and a commentator, and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Kim was a member of the American Legion Post 88 Auxiliary for 54 years. She was a member of the Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce ambassador committee. She was a recipient of Ashland County Women of Achievement award in 2004.

Kim enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians and collecting baseball cards, playing golf and softball, working puzzles, raising dogs and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Tom, of 27 years of marriage, Kim will be deeply missed by her children, Thomas (Kristen) Edwards Jr. of Oklahoma, Jason (Laura) Edwards of Colorado, Luke (Jana) Edwards of Mansfield, Kyle (fiancée Jaqueline Sanders) Edwards of Ashland and Casey Edwards of Ashland; father, Raymond Clark of Ashland; grandchildren, Ashley Edwards, Riley Edwards, Emerson Edwards, Avery Edwards, Thomas Edwards III and Robert Edwards; and her best friend, Kathy Kelly of Ashland; along with many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Kim was preceded in death by her mother, Dora McQuate.

A Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014, in St. Edward Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Rodney Kreidler officiating. Burial will follow in Vermillion Cemetery. Friends may call 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, at Denbow-Primm-Kemery Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Drive, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
