Verna Lee Collins, 88, of Searcy passed away Friday, February 21st in Searcy.

She was born May 19, 1925 in Center Hill, Arkansas to the late Robert and Fannie Blyeth Collins.

Verna was a member of West Race Baptist church for many years. Where she taught Sunday school and was very active in her church in her younger years. She was a beautician by trade for 68 years. She was owner and operator of Artistic Beauty Shop in Searcy, where she made many life long friends.

Aunt Vernie, as she was called by most, loved to sew and make beautiful little dresses for her nieces and others. She loved to crochet, knit, embroidery, and quilt. She was always hard at work caring for someone and always ready to lend a helping hand. She was truly a Christian lady in word and deed. She will be truly missed.

She is survived by two brothers, Fred Collins of Searcy and William "Bill" Sullivan of Belen, New Mexico; six nieces, six nephews and a host of loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Jim and Bowery Collins; two sisters, Lucille Abram and Elvie Brandon; one niece, Karen Collins Snow.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Friday, February 28th from 5-7pm at Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home and a Private Graveside service will be Saturday, March 1st at 1:00 p.m. at White County Memorial Gardens.
