Warren Homer Peters, 84, of Roanoke beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2005. He was born in Roanoke on December 10, 1920 (the fifth of six sons) to Whitney and Ella Peters. Mr. Peters was a lifelong and faithful member of Mt. Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church as well as the church organist for over sixty years. He also served as a Steward. He served his country in the US Navy and was a member of the Aristocrat Band for many years. In addition to his parents and brothers, he is preceded in death by his wife, Rosanna and son, Connon. He is survived by six daughters and three sons, Marva Carson of Clinton, MD, Homer (Francene) of Bowie, MD, Armandtine (Roger) Bailey of Washington, DC, Ralph (Yvonne) of Washington, DC, Peggy (Anthony) Galloway of Chesapeake, VA, Eva (Fred) Minor, George (Hazel), Jewel (Harold) Wade, Elnora (Mark) Tucker all of Roanoke; sister-in-law, Iris Peters of Richmond, VA; 21 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren and many other relatives.
