Second child born to Autia Wilson Helms and Goldie Goff Helms. Bill was born in Cotttage Grove, Or. He had a 30 year military career which he began in the Army Air Corp and retired as an Air Force Colonel. He was a member of the Hump Pilots Association; 3rd Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus;member of the Wally Byam Air Stream Club;active member in the Catholic Church. He held a Masters in Electrical Engineering, Retired Math Teacher, avid walker/runner,life-long poem writer. But the greatest accomplishments were being a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. A truly exceptional man! Bill was married 54 years to Jessie M. Skaleski (deceased 2005) and is survived by daughters Mary Martha Gorres (Roger); Theresa Anne Knapp (Bob);Patti Farley-Barker (Randy) and Cathy Louise East (Barry).
