On June 6, 1959, he was united in marriage to June Elaine Hafemann at St. Paul Lutheran Church in the town of Washington. She preceded him in death on Oct. 20, 2006.
Robert worked most of his life as a farmer. When not working, he enjoyed bowling, fishing, crafts, going to Lions camp, playing church dartball and playing cards, especially Sheepshead. Robert also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially those cherished moments with his grandchildren and great-grandson. Robert was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in the town of Washington and was the current president of the Green Bay Deaf Club.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Sandy (Kevin) Dordel, of Bonduel; two sons, Dennis Daskam, of Bonduel, and Steven (Wanda) Daskam, of Cecil; four grandchildren, Chad, Jason and Ryan Dordel, Melissa Daskam; a great-grandson, Noah Dordel; and a sister, Betty Ahrens, of Oshkosh.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife, June; his parents; a sister, Dorothy Staerkel; and two brothers-in-law, Bruce Staerkel and Darwin Ahrens.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, town of Washington, with the Rev. Steven Pockat officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery. Visitation was held at the Swedberg-Wendt Funeral Home on Monday from 4-8 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
