Richard Vernon Christie, 73, of Bryan, went to join his wife in Heaven on Sunday, February 23, 2014. A time for family to receive friends will be from 5–7 PM on Tuesday, February 25th at Hillier Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, February 26th at Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan with Mark Kremer officiating. Interment will follow at Bryan City Cemetery.

Richard was born on February 3, 1941 to Lawrence and Veda (Belcher) Christie in Watertown, NY. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the Army and eventually became Captain. He then graduated from Oswego State University in New York and continued his career managing multiple businesses. His passion in life was his family especially his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by loving wife of 50 years, Sharon, and his parents.

Richard leaves 5 daughters, Cindy and husband, John Grennan, Wendy and husband, Mike Collins, Angela and husband, Bill Rider, Andrea and husband, Jeff Pearson, and Becky Gomez; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; one sister, Sandra Rymph; and one beloved best friend, Cuddles.
