Josie was born on January 18, 1946 to Pedro G. and Anastacia Reyes in Elgin, Texas.
Josie met Oscar Wise in Elgin, and they were married in 1963. They had three sons.
Josie was a long-time employee of the Austin State School, where she retired after 26 years of service. She was an active and long-time member of First Baptist Church of Elgin. She was also the pianist there for many years. She was recently a member of High Pointe Baptist Church of Austin.
She is survived by two brothers Pete Reyes and wife Brigid of Elgin, and John Reyes of Austin. She is also survived by three sons Oscar Wise and wife Shana of Round Rock, Roland Wise and wife Linda of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Jaime Wise and Valerie Shilling of Buda. Josie also had eight Grandchildren.
A visitation and Celebration of Life Services will be held at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in the Plesant Grove Cemetery.
Her family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to the staff at North Austin Medical Center and Christopher House Hospice. Also, to the many friends and family who visited her during her last days.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christopher House Hospice of Austin.
