Anna Younger, wife of former police chief Lawrence Younger Sr. who died July 2, died July 17 at Hadley Regional Medical Center. She was 77. She was born Dec. 29, 1903 the daughter of Philip and Cecilia Pfannenstiel and married Lawrence Younger on Aug. 16, 1926 in Hays.

She was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Daughters of Isabella, the Altar Society and Christian Mothers.

She is survived by one son, Lawrence Jr., Hays; four daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Mermis and Mrs. Florence Wear, both of Hays, Mrs. Rosie Koirth, Providence, R.I., and Mrs. Celeste Pfannenstiel, Longmont, Colo.; two brothers, Joseph Pfannenstiel, Topeka, and Herman Pfannenstiel, Brighton, Colo.; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Dinkel, Hays, Mrs. Christine Kreutzer, Pasadena, Calif.; 21 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Monday at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.
