1941-43 - Virginia attended Huntington College in Montgomery, AL. Virginia returned to Jackson, TN to attend business school – learned clerical skills.
5/1944 - John Bell, in the Army Air Corps, was unable to get leave to be married. Virginia, with her mother escorting her, traveled to Rapid City, SD, to join him and get married.
5/9/1944 - in the First Methodist Church of Rapid City, SD, at 9 P.M., John married Virginia. Virginia went to Washington, D.C. to work in the Pentagon in the Ordnance office; John was sent to England as a bomber pilot.
1945 - John and Gincy visited St Louis, Mo. on his separation trip home. They moved into an apartment in a private home in Jackson, TN.
2/1946 - John went to work for WCMA radio in Corinth, MS. They moved into an apartment in downtown Corinth, MS. Virginia worked at WCMA radio for many years as receptionist and computer operator.
Virginia, known as Gincie, was a homemaker, raising two sons and two daughters. She was a member of the Corinth Junior Auxiliary, and a member of the First United Methodist Church for 67 years.
10/17/2013 - Virginia passed away at Country Cottage Assisted Living in Corinth, where she had resided for four years.
